Jack Maynard loves to help people. That is one of many reasons he loves working at Alcon. Alcon is the number one manufacturer of inter-ocular contact lenses in the world and serves eye care professionals and their patients in more than 180 countries, spanning 90% of the globe. Jack believes in Alcon’s mission to provide innovative products that enhance quality of life by helping people see better.
“I enjoy helping people and being part of a company that gives people the ability to regain sight,” Jack said. “Our products help people so they can live a normal life, and this truly gives me a sense of purpose and pride.”
Jack has been employed by Alcon for 15 years and has been promoted several times during his tenure. He is currently the Quality Control Supervisor for the Advanced Optical Device Centers at both the South and North facilities.
Jack is a recent graduate of Mountwest where he earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science and says that his education has improved his ability to perform his daily tasks at a much higher level. Education is important to Jack, and that’s why he decided to continue learning by taking advantage of an articulation agreement between Mountwest and Ohio University that is allowing him the opportunity to apply his first two years at Mountwest towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical and Applied Science.
In addition to working at Alcon and continuing his education, he is a member of the American Society of Quality and a Certified Quality Improvement Associate, as well as a Persian Gulf Veteran. He attributes his strong work ethic from his time serving in the United States Air Force.
“Education gives you the ability to, not only learn and understand, but to also better yourself, your families, and your community,” Jack said.
Jack is a graduate of Symmes Valley High School and has resided in the Tri-State area the majority of his life. He enjoys spending time with his wife, their two sons and being outdoors.
