Crystal Eagle always knew that she had an interest in computers; never did she expect that it could turn into a promising career. After high school graduation, she was unsure of which career path to take.

It was when she was fixing her boyfriend’s computer from a virus that she realized she wanted to take the next step in pursuing a career with computers. Crystal began to research careers and colleges that offered the program best for her.

Soon she found Mountwest and chose to enroll because of the hands-on computer classes that were offered to complete the degree. Specifically, Crystal enrolled in the Network Solutions Administration program, which consisted of classes such as Information Storage and Management and Advance Operation Systems, which she knew would be beneficial in her future career.

Crystal enrolled in the Information Technology Internship program, which consisted of 250 internship hours. This program is intended to help students land a job after graduation. She began her internship at Advanced Technical Solutions, which eventually led to the full-time career she has today.

“Advanced Technical Solutions is pleased to work so closely with Mountwest; we have been fortunate to have talented Mountwest interns like Crystal join our team,” said Paul Martin, Crystal’s supervisor. “We quickly found that she was very serious about the IT industry.”

Throughout her internship, Advanced Technical Solutions helped Crystal earn various certifications by offering training to help prepare her and by also paying for the exams. In addition, because Crystal was a student at Mountwest, she received a discount on each of her certification exams.

“Mountwest gave me the knowledge and skills to get the job and do the basic fundamentals; Advanced Technical Solutions has given me the knowledge and experience to grow off of these skills,” Crystal explained.

Crystal graduated from Mountwest in May 2012. She has now been with Advanced Technical Solutions for almost two years and has been promoted twice. Her title is now System Engineer.

“With the continued high level of work and great attention to customer service, I know that Crystal will continue to advance,” Paul said. “I am very pleased and fortunate to work with her and I look forward to seeing the continued success that I know she will achieve.”

Crystal currently holds the following certifications due to the knowledge and skills provided by Mountwest and Advanced Technical Solutions:
